About the Project
This textile artwork was commissioned as a site-specific piece for an institutional space. The project was conceived considering the dimensions, the architectural surroundings, and the public nature of the site, integrating the textile as a permanent element within the space.

Origin of the Form
The form is based on a design developed from scratch, adjusted to a specific horizontal proportion. The formal approach stems from a contemporary reinterpretation of the geometric iconography found on Andean looms in the Sierra region, where the repetition of shapes, visual rhythm, and weave organization construct language and structure.
The geometries do not function as ornamentation, but rather as a visual system, inheriting a textile tradition where design is directly integrated into the fabric and its constructive logic, adapted here to a contemporary architectural context.

Material and Technique
The piece is made of hand-dyed sheep's wool and woven on a pedal loom. The process includes preliminary design, warp preparation, hand weaving, and final assembly, woven by master weavers, guaranteeing technical precision and material coherence.

Color and Context
The color palette, called Tierra Viva (Living Earth), is composed of terracotta, wine, and deep earth tones, common in the textiles of the Andean region, where the colors evoke the landscape, the soil, and natural materials.

This color selection allows for a subtle integration within a contemporary institutional space, adding warmth and presence without being visually imposing, in dialogue with the surrounding finishes.

Interpretation of the Ensemble
The textile functions as a continuous piece, where form, material, and color are articulated to accompany the daily movement through the space. The work establishes a link between Andean textile language and a contemporary institutional context, integrating naturally into an environment that represents the cultural diversity of Peru.
